Student Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
Just a wee email to thank you for all the help you've given me. When I first came to see you, I was carrying a deep concern - that the trauma from my childhood, especially the difficult relationship I had with my father, might affect how I show up as a parent to my future child. I didn’t want to pass that pain on. From the very beginning, you created a space where I felt completely safe to open up. You listened without judgment, and you truly heard me. You helped me explore my experiences from many different perspectives, often revealing insights I hadn’t considered before. You encouraged me to see the strength in the choices I was making and helped me understand that I didn’t need to feel ashamed of my past or my decisions. You were always there with compassion and empathy—an open ear for all of my concerns. Not once did I feel judged or hesitant to speak. I always knew I could be completely honest with you.Working with you has been one of the best decisions of my life. It has truly changed me. I now feel confident, grounded, and ready. The fears I once carried have lifted. I know, with certainty, that I will be a great dad to my son.Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. With gratitude,

Hello, 'Eileen is the best! She created a comfortable environment where I could talk without worrying about being judged. Very well informed, with some real nuggets of wisdom and good questions that helped to radically change my perspective. I've finished our sessions feeling like I have a much better understanding of myself, and the coping skills I need to manage the obstacles life presents. Thank you!!!' I also just want to thank you again. I'm so glad I came in! All the Best,
- Client
Eileen Halliday is currently studying for a Diploma in Counselling at Perth UHI, following her BA in Child & Youth Studies. As a counsellor, she aims to support clients through life’s challenges by providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
With a background in youth work, Eileen understands the complexities of personal development and the impact of past experiences on present behaviours. Her approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and collaboration, empowering clients to explore their emotions and gain deeper self-awareness. She believes that everyone has the capacity for growth and change and works alongside her clients to help them understand their patterns, develop coping strategies, and make meaningful life changes.
Eileen focuses on the individual as a whole, valuing their unique experiences and perspectives. Whether clients are facing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or other life challenges, her goal is to support them in navigating their journey with compassion and understanding. Counselling offers an opportunity for self-exploration and personal growth, and Eileen is committed to providing a supportive space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to create positive change in their lives.

Counsellor Status Update
Eileen is currently transitioning from Counsellor in Training to Qualified Counsellor status following the successful completion of her training.
She has:
- Completed all academic and practical requirements of the HND Counselling course at UHI Perth
- Successfully passed all coursework and required assessments
- Passed the BACP Certificate of Proficiency
- Completed and exceeded the required 100 hours of supervised counselling practice (160+ hours completed with Dundee Counselling!)
- Fulfilled all course requirements in full
At present, her final results are awaiting formal ratification by the exam/progression board (scheduled for June 2026). While this means her qualification has not yet been officially conferred, she has completed everything required and is now simply awaiting confirmation.
With this in mind, Dundee Counselling recognises Eileen as operating at a qualified level, and she is therefore:
- Transitioning into a Qualified Counsellor role
- Charging the standard full counselling rate
- Continuing to work under appropriate professional supervision
- A member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
- Registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
- Remains fully insured for her counselling work
We believe it is important to be transparent about this interim stage. In the unlikely event that her result is not ratified as expected, this would be communicated openly and discussed with any affected clients.
