Heidi Fettes

Part 3: This Therapist

Heidi Fettes, Counsellor

Registered member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland).

Raised in Aberdeenshire by her Norwegian mother and English father, Heidi’s early fascination with human behavior led her to pursue a Degree in Psychology from the University of Dundee in 1993. Her career journey took her from Human Resources back to psychology, culminating in a Masters Degree in Occupational Psychology in 2003.

Heidi’s path to counselling began while volunteering as a support worker at the Women’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre in Dundee in 2008. This experience, coupled with her desire to aid in people’s wellbeing, led her to complete a Diploma in Counselling with Vital Connexions in 2015. Since then, she has been practicing as a counsellor.

Her counselling work addresses issues like anxiety, stress, depression, low mood, self-esteem problems, identity issues, and relationship difficulties. Heidi employs an integrative approach to counselling, tailoring sessions to her clients’ needs. She is also trained and experienced in working therapeutically with children and young people and offers counselling from a Christian perspective upon request.

A proponent of maintaining a healthy body, mind, and spirit, Heidi enjoys regular exercise and spending time in the Scottish mountains. She is a registered member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland).
