Mark Ford

Mark Ford - Counsellor

Mark grew up in Northern Ireland and is a former Doctor with a background in General Practice and student support. He’s lived in Dundee for 20+ years and as well as his work for Dundee Counselling he works for the NHS, providing one to one support for healthcare staff.

Mark recognises that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and as an integrative counsellor, he’s trained in a number of different approaches. This means that he will be able to work alongside you and tailor therapy to what would be of best help to you. The sorts of issues Mark is able to help with include; anxiety/stress, depression, low mood, anger, problems with identity and self-worth, bereavement/loss, life transitions and work-related stress.

No matter what you’d like to speak about, Mark always aims to provide a space where you can be heard, valued and understood. His job is to listen thoughtfully and non-judgementally, creating an environment where you feel comfortable to explore and reflect on your circumstances. He hopes to sit alongside you as you consider any challenges you’re facing but also as you realise your hopes, strengths and choices.

Mark is a registered member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland). He’s also still registered with the General Medical Council as a Doctor.
