Student Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
I believe in the agency and individuality of every person and I am passionate about collaborating to help others build their own lives on their own terms. I am a pluralistic counsellor, currently studying at Master’s level. That means I will do everything I can to adapt to a client’s needs and preferences during therapy within a collaborative and shared journey, drawing on many different theories at different times for different clients depending on what works for them.
I am forward thinking with a focus on client strengths and values and a respect for diverse backgrounds and experience. As such, I welcome LGBT+ identities and polyamorous individuals. I believe that the first step of any counselling journey is acceptance of the individual. I strive to make my practice non-judgemental and create a space where clients are comfortable to be themselves.
My background is in the creative arts. I believe that all humans have a creative spark in them and I am happy to bring that into the therapy room. My special interests are questions of identity and relationships with others, and how we as people undergo change and transition throughout our lives. I value connection and community, having worked as a volunteer befriender for those who have felt isolated due to their mental health and personal circumstances.
I live with my partner and my tangerine leopard gecko, Sunny. In my free time, I play video games, read voraciously and enjoy creative arts such as book binding, collage, sketching and cross stitch. I also play table top role playing games, enjoy fantasy and sci-fi films and tv shows, and all kinds of other nerdy hobbies.
